The 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act roughly doubled the standard deduction. Bunching: instead of giving $30,000/year for three years, contribute $90,000 to your DAF in one year, itemize and claim the full deduction, then take the standard deduction in years two and three while granting at your normal pace.

You receive a charitable deduction in the year of contribution. For cash, the deduction equals the amount contributed. For appreciated securities, the deduction equals fair market value. Deduction limits: cash up to 60% of AGI; appreciated property up to 30% of AGI.

Investment professionals can donate a portion of their firm’s management company interest to NCE. It is appraised by an independent firm, and NCE then receives a proportional share of annual fee income flowing into your DAF.
